Silvia Asiolis Pressrelese Abion Milan office

Gothenburg, Sweden | Milan, Italy – 23rd July 2024

In a strategic move to grow its market position in Italy and Southern Europe, Abion, a leading IP tech-enabled firm, announces the opening of a new office in Milan and the appointment of Silvia Asioli as the new Country Manager for Italy. Well-known in the industry and with a career built in big law firms, Silvia Asioli brings over 20 years of extensive experience in Italian and European intellectual property law.

Silvia's appointment, and the decision to open a second Italian office in Milan, reinforces Abion's country strategy to continuously grow and develop its key markets along the maturity ladder and strengthen its position to better serve Italian clients.

Milan: A Strategic Hub for Abion

Opening an office in Milan, Italy's primary business hub, is also strategically important for Abion. Milan’s central role in the Italian IP industry makes it essential for us to establish a strong presence here to be recognised as a key player. This move, along with our already established Rome office, enables us to enhance our service offering and deepen our collaboration with clients through comprehensive IP counselling and brand protection services, through a suite of services, including legal counsel, domain and trade mark management, online brand protection, and web security – all seamlessly managed on one platform.

Milan and beyond - Silvia Asioli's Vision for Abion

Silvia’s extensive experience includes working on complex opposition procedures, customs surveillance applications, anti-counterfeiting issues, and negotiating and drafting settlement and coexistence agreements. Her dual qualifications as an Italian and European Trade mark Attorney combined with her dynamic leadership in developing sophisticated IP and brand protection strategies make Silvia an ideal leader to drive Abion's ambitions in Italy.

Reflecting on her new role, Asioli stated, “I am thrilled to join a company with such big ambitions and unparalleled expertise across the full spectrum of IP management solutions. Milan is the heart of Italy’s business landscape, and I look forward to leveraging its strategic importance to further Abion’s mission. The opportunity to contribute to a vision that disrupts traditional legal frameworks and offers our clients unparalleled, innovative solutions is one I couldn’t turn down.”

Abion's Strategic Vision: Enhanced Commitment to Italian Excellence

With a rich history of serving the European market, Italy remains a key region for us at Abion. Welcoming Asioli on board is a testament to the significance we place on finding the right individual with the appropriate profile to enhance our legal expertise in Italy and to take over from Lorenzo Litta. While Litta will continue to play an important role in our Italian business, he will now be able to focus on his role as Abion’s Global Head of Brands & Legal.

Commenting on Silvia’s appointment, Lorenzo Litta said, “I am delighted Silvia has decided to join Abion and it highlights our growing reputation. Silvia’s exceptional track record and visionary leadership in managing and protecting brands are exactly what we need to advance our mission in Italy, and I feel confident leaving it in her hands. Her appointment reaffirms our commitment to delivering unparalleled services to our clients and strengthening our position as the global guardian of brands."

A Future of Innovation and Growth

With Milan's strategic significance and Silvia's leadership, Abion looks forward to a future of exceptional growth and industry leadership in Italy. The company remains dedicated to empowering brands and safeguarding intellectual property with innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of clients worldwide.
